About Me
Welcome! I’m Sara Niknejad, founder and creative director of Niksa Design.
With a background in architecture, I have a deep appreciation for structure and balance—but not the kind of structure defined by strict symmetry or perfect lines. I’m drawn to forms that adapt, shift, and stay balanced despite pressure, time, and environmental stress. That ability to transform while maintaining integrity inspires everything I create.
My work is grounded in the idea of organic transformation—how natural materials evolve gradually or suddenly under external forces. I don’t hide cracks or irregularities; I embrace them as part of each piece’s story. Through light, texture, and form, I aim to turn nature’s imperfections into meaning.
Each sculptural light is handcrafted in Richmond Hill, Ontario, using fallen wood, handmade paper, and non-toxic, sustainable finishes. My goal is to bring poetic structure into spaces—where architecture, nature, and feeling meet in harmony.

Each light we create is rooted in architectural thinking, artistic sensibility, and deep respect for natural processes. Using reclaimed wood, handmade paper, and eco-conscious materials, every piece tells its own story of renewal and beauty.
